Automatic scaling explained

Automatic scaling explained

On the main dashboard card, next to pending payout, Automatic scaling uses a percentage of each day’s net mining rewards (from every miner on the account) to buy more hashrate. The rest of that day’s net reward is added to pending BTC payout. Mining rewards are not guaranteed.

Change automatic scaling

  • 1. Open the dashboard

Log in and open the dashboard.

  • 2. Find Automatic scaling

It is on the pending payout card, next to the BTC payout address.

  • 3. Choose Off, Balanced, or Max

Off (0%) sends the full daily net reward toward BTC payout. Balanced (50%) splits it. Max (100%) uses the full daily net reward to buy more hashrate.

  • 4. Confirm it only applies going forward

The new percentage applies to future daily net rewards only. Pending payout already on the account is unchanged.

The three settings

The labels match the three radios on the dashboard:

  • Off (0%) — no automatic scaling. The full daily net reward goes toward BTC payouts.
  • Balanced (50%) — half of each day’s net rewards buys more hashrate; half stays for payout.
  • Max (100%) — the full daily net reward buys more hashrate.

Hashrate bought this way is added to the currently sellable miner with the lowest W/TH (the same “most efficient for sale” pick the dashboard uses for automatic scaling). It is not added back onto older generations you already hold.

Changes only affect future rewards

Switching Off / Balanced / Max does not move or spend your current pending payout. Only net rewards generated after the change follow the new percentage. Already-pending BTC stays pending until it is paid out to your wallet.

What automatic scaling is not

Automatic scaling is not a separate product and not a way to sell hashrate. It only splits each new daily net reward between buying more hashrate and pending BTC payout. There is no extra fee for using it.

It is also unavailable during Free Testing. Testing accounts stay at Off until you convert with a purchase.

If you do not log in for a long time

Pending mining rewards are meant to be paid out to your BTC wallet. We do not hold Bitcoin in custody for you. If a converted account has no login for 6 months, automatic scaling is set to Max (100%) so new net rewards buy hashrate instead of sitting as pending payout. You can log in at any time and change the setting. Logging in resets that timer.

On Balanced, 50% of each new daily net reward still goes to pending payout. On Max, new daily net rewards buy hashrate instead of adding to payout. Pending BTC that was already there is not converted.

No. Automatic scaling only uses new net rewards to buy additional hashrate. It does not sell hashrate you already have. See Can I sell hashrate?.
