LBC Mining
How traditional LBRY Credits mining works
LBRY Credits (LBC) is the token originally issued for the LBRY protocol (content addressing; Odysee is the well-known frontend). Mining uses the Lbry proof-of-work algorithm.
This page lists three Goldshell units (LB1, LB-BOX, LB Lite). The network is small versus BTC or LTC. Check current difficulty and whether pools still pay LBC before you buy hardware.
LBRY mining pools
LBC pool listings change. Start from an index, then open the pool’s own coin page:
- MiningPoolStats LBRY: Advertised pools, fees, and hashrate.
- f2pool: Check whether LBC is still an active coin on their dashboard.
LBRY mining algorithm
The Lbry algorithm is a dedicated PoW hash. Goldshell LB-series ASICs are the machines on this page. A Scrypt or SHA-256 miner cannot be pointed at LBC.
LBC is not Ethereum and not a merge-mine with BTC. Rewards are LBC only unless a pool offers auto-exchange (read that pool’s terms).

How to set up an LBRY mining rig
-
1. Choose LBRY mining hardware
Goldshell LB1, LB-BOX, or LB Lite. Confirm the pool still accepts that model.
-
2. Set up an LBC wallet
Use an LBC wallet from the LBRY/Odysee project docs or an exchange that still lists LBC. Verify deposits on a tiny test amount.
-
3. Configure the ASIC to the pool
Enter the Lbry stratum URL from the pool. Worker format is pool-specific.
-
4. Be cautious with firmware
Only Goldshell firmware. Small-coin custom images are a frequent steal-hashrate vector.
-
5. Start mining
Watch for LBC shares. Recalculate profit weekly; low-liquidity coins can lose pools overnight.
Frequently asked questions
LBC (LBRY Credits) is the token for the LBRY protocol. Odysee is a consumer app that used LBC. Mining is a separate PoW network, not a video-hosting job.
This page lists three Goldshell LB models.
No. Those are Scrypt and SHA-256. You need a Lbry ASIC.
Often no, after power. Price the hashrate and watts on the miner pages against your kWh. Do not buy an LB box on old YouTube APY screenshots.
